What is Freedom
Pre-Fix?
Freedom Lubricant is an anti-viral sexual lubricant that helps to prevent
transmission of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Although many
microbicidal lubricants are under development, Freedom Lube is the only one
currently on the market.
What is the difference between Pre-Fix and Freedom Lubricant?
What ingredients are in Pre-Fix?
We have carefully researched every available substance that is being tested
for anti-viral lubricants to prevent STD transmission. It turns out that the
most powerful of these are naturally occuring in certain plants. Our
proprietary formulation includes active antimicrobial ingredients refined from
17 natural sources, in a water based gel.
Our formulation also includes several substances that prevent skin
irritation. This is very important as irritation of the epithilieum
lining of the vagina plays a key role in STD transmission. Substances
that are highly anti-microbial can loose their effectiveness or even promote
STD transmission if they irritate the skin. This has proven to be the
case with the antimicrobial Nonoxyl 9 - it irritates the skin and so does not
lessen STD transmission. For this reason our formulations include no
substances that irritate the skin of the penis or vaginal lining -
specifically we do not use Sodium Lauryl Sulphate or SLS. Our key
ingredients have been clinically proven, in human trials, to lessen or
prevent STD transmission. They key here is human trials, as humans have
much more vigorous and potentially more skin damaging sex than do animals.
Some of the active ingredients include:
- sulphated polysacharides clinically proven to prevent STD transmission
when formulated in an sexual lubricant
- saponins clinically proven to prevent STD transmission when formulated
in an sexual lubricant
- cellulose acetate phtlalate clinically proven to prevent STD
transmission when formulated in an sexual lubricant
- thermoreversible gel clinically proven to prevent STD transmission when
formulated in an sexual lubricant
- Bioflavanoids clinically proven antiviral to STDs
- Polyphenols clinically proven antiviral to STDs
- Apigenin clinically proven antiviral to STDs
- Quercetin clinically proven antiviral to STDs
- Terpene oxides clinically proven antiviral to STDs
- Polysacharides clinically proven antiviral to STDs
- Immune boosters clinically proven to boost immunity to STDs
- Several natural skin anti-irritants to prevent irritation to the
vaginal lining
How does Freedom Lubricant work?
The active ingredients in Fix-It prevent virus transmission in several
ways.
Some directly kill viruses, some envelop them to prevent it from replicating,
some attach to receptors on the virus to prevent it from replicating, and some
stimulate an immune response in the body to destroy the virus.
Other products under development rely on just one mode of preventing virus
transmission. Some of the more successful antimocrobial lubricants being
researched use sulphated polysacharides or cellulose acetate phtlalate to
encapsulate viruses and so prevent the viruses from having any effect.
We have incorporated all of the best currently available technologies into one
product, thus preventing transmission in several ways at once. We have
been very careful to avoid any antimicrobial substance that has the potential
to irritant the skin in the vaginal lining.
Fix-It also contains ingredients to reduce skin irritation, and promote a
natural antiviral response from the body.
Is Freedom Lube non-toxic?
Yes, it is completely non-toxic.
I have herpes. Will Freedom Lube prevent me from passing it on?
Yes, it certainly can. Eighty percent of herpes transmission occurs
during viral shedding when there is no visible sign of herpes lesions.
Freedom Lube is very effective in preventing such transmission.
If you have herpes and feel prodromo symptoms such as a tingling or itching
in your belly or genitals, we strongly recommend that also kill the virus deep
inside your skin by using Fix-it on whole genital area. If you
have active open lesions the most prudent thing to do is to not have sex until
they have healed.
If you have herpes, there is no reason why you can't live a normal sexual
life, free from fear of passing on this disease. If you are prone to
outbreaks, use our Fix-It Oral and Fix-it topical antiviral products to
prevent future outbreaks. Practice safe sex by using our antiviral
lubricants.
If you don't have herpes, and don't want to get it, then your only
protection is an antiviral lubricant. Condoms are not effective against
herpes transmission, because the virus can be shed by skin with no lesions
that are not covered by a condom.
Is Freedom Lube active against AIDS?
Yes, the ingredients in Freedom Lube have been shown to be very effective
in preventing transmission of the HIV virus. However the effectiveness
has not been shown to be 100%, so we still advise caution.
One way to look at the risk of contracting aids is through
statistics. In most low risk groups in the US, the prevalance of HIV
infected people is less than 1 in 100,000. If your partner is in
a low risk group for having AIDS (for instance a white woman over 25 years
old, who is not a prostitute, and is living in a city that does not have above
average HIV cases) and you use Freedom Lube, the averaged chances of
contracting aids would be millions to one.
Higher risk groups in the US include intravenous drug users, gay men or
people who have had sex with gay men, blacks, hispanics, and teenagers, in
that order of risk.
Using Freedom Lube greatly reduces the risk of contracting HIV. There
are other ways to also manage that risk. Condom use is effective, but
also not 100% effective, as condoms break or are not used during
foreplay. Testing of both partners for AIDs and other STDs can
greatly help reduce risk.
We hope to soon have available for sale an oral aids test that gives
instant HIV antibody test results using saliva. The accuracy of this
product is over 98%.
We recommend people test themselves and their partners for HIV when moving
into new long term relationships. People with multiple sex partners
should test themselves regularly, in order not to pose a risk to others.
Life in general is full of risks. We can manage risks sensibly
without being paralyzed and so properly enjoy life.
My partner does not have herpes and is not high risk for AIDS. Do I
need this stuff?
Unless your partner has had a test for herpes, there is no way to be
certain that your partner does not have it. Initial symptoms of
contracting herpes can be mild or misinterpreted, and over 60% of those
infected rarely or never have a recurring outbreak. From 20 to 30% of
people in the US have herpes, and it is asymptomatic viral shedding that
causes 80% of all herpes transmission. The risk of contracting herpes
from one partner who does have it to one who does not is in the neighbourhood
of 15% per year, so even if your partner is not aware of having herpes, and
you have been together for while, you may still be at risk of contracting
herpes from your partner.
And unless you are a virgin then the same is true in reverse.
Regarding AIDS, if your partner is in a low risk group, that does not mean
that his or her previous sexual partners were also in a low risk group. A
study by Dr. Sunya Williams of the University of Illinois has shown that lying
about past sexual relations is common. You may be able to gauge
with some accuracy the likelihood of your partner having AIDS, but an AIDS
test is the best judge.
Unless you have both been tested for AIDS and herpes, and unless you can be
100% certain of monogamy for the both of you (up to 60% both men and women
have at least one adulterous affair), then you should be advised to use an
anti-viral sexual lubricant.
A simpler way to look at it is that a lubricant enhances sexual pleasure,
so you may as well use an anti-viral lubricant.
How common is herpes?
Herpes type 1 as the virus that causes cold sores is estimated to have
infected from 80% to 90% of all adults. Up to 30% of genital herpes
is now thought to be caused by HSV type 1 herpes being transmitted to the
genital area.
Experts estimate that from 20% to 30% of teenagers and adults are infected
with genital herpes. Up
to 500,000 new cases of genital herpes are diagnosed each year.
Each
year, in the U.S. alone, 40 million people
experience outbreaks of cold sores, 30 million
have outbreaks of genital herpes and nearly one
million endure outbreaks of shingles.
So if you do have genital herpes, you are certainly not alone. If you
don't have it, roughly one in four of all adults that you meet do.
Herpes can be a painful nuisance, but most people with herpes feel that the
biggest problem is not the actual disease as much as the possibility to pass it
on to someone else. With Fix-it, Fix-it Oral, and Freedom Lube, that
possibility can be reduced to near 0. People with or without herpes can
live free from fear of herpes.
Is your product free of pesticides and heavy metals?
Yes. Our anti-viral extracts come from pesticide free organic
products. In addition
all extracts are tested by independent laboratories to confirm that the
pesticide and heavy metal content is negligible.
Why is Freedom Lubricant not available in stores?
We hope that it soon will be, and to that end we are looking to partner
with distrubutors. Please contact
us for further information.
Why use Freedom Lubricant with Freedom Pre-Fix? Isn't Freedom Lube good enough?
Yes, either product alone is sufficient.
The two products work in slightly different ways. Freedom Lubricant
uses a water based gel as a carrier of the anti-viral extracts. Freedom
Pre-Fix uses a base of thermoreversible gel. This goes on as a liquid,
and turns to gel at body temperature. It has been shown effective to
prevent STD transmission by itself, and more so when used as a carrier for
anti-viral substances. Freedom Pre-Fix has the advantage of being able
to be applied into the vagina at a womans discretion prior to sex, or in an
emergency directly after sex. Another advantage is that the
thermoreversible is applied as a liquid and so gets into the smallest crevices
to provide a barrier to microbes.
Because of this difference in the base of the product (water based gel or
thermoreversible gel), the two products work in slightly different ways.
Using both together may offer slightly greater protection.
Have the ingredients in Freedom Lube been independently tested?
Yes. The ingredients in Freedom Lubricant have each been the subject of
several clinical studies that prove their effectiveness in preventing STD
transmission, especially in preventing Herpes and HIV
transmission. Independent medical studies published in America,
Europe, and Asia provide quantitative proof that the ingredients in Freedom
Lube not only kill and inactivate STD viruses, but prevent transmission when
formulated into a sexual lubricant.
